THE NEW COMPLEXITY: CONTEMPORARY ARCHITECTURE IN GERMANY

The exhibition presents eleven important works by representative German architectural offices and tries to give a comprehensive overview of the legacy and development of tradition in German architecture from four perspectives: “Context and Tradition”, “Artistic Expression”, “Sustainability and Ecology” and “technology”. In addition, the exhibition presents contemporary architectural design methods and discusses future visions for architecture.

As one of the curators, Tang Jie delivered the opening speech at the ceremony and conducted a curator’s tour, offering an in-depth interpretation of the exhibition theme and works.

As one of the most significant exhibitions in the past decade to systematically present and introduce German architectural design methods and theories to China, this project has not only attracted sustained attention within the Chinese architectural community but has also sparked extensive debate in the European architectural scene. Its outcomes have been disseminated through various media and academic platforms, further fostering cross-cultural exchange and theoretical dialogue between the architectural communities of China and Germany.

本次展览呈现了德国多家代表性建筑事务所的 11 件重要作品，力图从 “语境与传统”、“艺术表达”、“可持续性与生态”、“技术” 四个维度，对德国建筑传统的传承与发展进行全面梳理与呈现。同时，展览还展示了当代建筑设计的方法，并探讨了建筑的未来愿景。

策展人唐杰在开幕式上发表了开幕致辞，并带领嘉宾进行策展人导览，对展览主题与展出作品进行了深入解读。

作为近十年来系统性梳理并向中国介绍德国建筑设计方法与理论的重要展览，该项目不仅在中国建筑学界引发了持续关注，也在欧洲建筑界掀起了广泛讨论。展览成果通过多种媒体与学术平台传播，进一步促进了中德建筑学界的跨文化交流与理论对话。
