Tang Jie
Since 2003, Tang Jie has studied architecture at Harbin Institute of Technology in China, Chiba University in Japan, and the Technical University of Munich in Germany. After graduation, he worked with Thomas Herzog, a pioneer in sustainable architecture, and Max Dudler, a Swiss rationalist architect, where he participated in major international projects across Europe and Asia, including the Guangzhou Museum of Art, Wuhan Natural History Museum, Ulm Children’s Theater, and the new Library of Renmin University of China.

In 2021, Tang Jie founded Tang Jie Architecture Lab & Production Studio in Munich and Guangzhou, focusing on interdisciplinary practice and research in architecture, industrial design, and digital technology. His work has received multiple national and international patents and design awards.

His projects and writings have been published in Architect, Architecture Practice, UED, The Paper, Phoenix TV, and Archiposition, among other professional media. In 2019, he published his monograph Ideal City (Sichuan People’s Press). As a curator, he co-organized the exhibition “New German Architecture” with the Goethe-Institut at the China Design Museum in 2021, and in 2025 he was invited as an instructor to participate in the DigitalFUTURES International Workshop hosted by Tongji University.

In addition, Tang Jie has served as a design jury member and academic advisor at institutions such as South China University of Technology, Southeast University, Guangzhou University of Technology, Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, as well as for media platforms including Phoenix TV and Archiposition, bringing extensive experience in design, research, and teaching.

唐杰自 2003 年起先后在中国哈尔滨工业大学、日本千叶大学及德国慕尼黑工业大学学习建筑学。毕业后,他曾在德国可持续建筑先驱 Thomas Herzog 与瑞士理性主义建筑师 Max Dudler 的事务所工作,参与了多项欧洲与亚洲的重要国际项目,包括广州美术馆、武汉自然博物馆、乌尔姆儿童剧场、中国人民大学新图书馆等。

2021 年,唐杰于慕尼黑与广州创立 唐杰建筑与制造工作室 Tang Jie Architecture Lab & Production Studio,开展跨学科的建筑、产品设计与工业科技研究与实践,其设计成果已获得多项国内外专利与设计奖项。

他的作品与文章发表于《建筑师》《建筑实践》《UED》、 凤凰卫视及有方等专业媒体,并于 2019 年出版专著 《理想的城市》(四川人民出版社)。作为策展人,唐杰曾与德国歌德学院合作,于 2021 年在中国设计博物馆主办 《德国新建筑》展览;2025 年作为指导教师受邀参加由同济大学主办的 DigitalFutures 2025。

除设计与研究实践外,唐杰还在华南理工大学、东南大学、广州工业大学等高校,以及凤凰卫视、有方等机构担任设计评委与学术顾问,拥有丰富的教学与学术交流经验。

Tang Jie Architecture Lab & Production Studio breaks through the conventional boundaries of architecture, focusing on cross-disciplinary research that spans architecture, product design, and industrial technology. The studio is committed to integrating design with advanced productive forces, learning from cutting-edge manufacturing, and applying state-of-the-art digital and intelligent technologies to explore new possibilities—pursuing innovation and breakthroughs that were previously unimaginable.

The team is highly international and diverse, composed of young and creative members with backgrounds in architecture, design, engineering, and the arts. Through multidisciplinary perspectives and cross-disciplinary thinking, the studio seeks to establish an open and inclusive path of development, continuously exploring design practices oriented toward the future.
